I have had this camera for 6 months now, I love it more every day. I like the ease of changing the settings to adjust the camera to the situation and get the picture you want. It is very user friendly and well designed. Do learn what the camera is capable of so you can get the most out of it. If you know what this D3000 does, you will absolutely love it. Also, there is no difference in picture quality between the Nikon D3100 and this one, Nikon D3000. I know someone who has the Nikon D3100 and it looks exactly like mine except it shoots video. I do not care about video, so I paid a lot less for the D3000 and I have awesome professional looking pictures. If you are considering a dSLR I say go for this one and you will not regret it.
