I bought this DSLR because I wanted to phase-up from my 5 yr old olympus P&S camera and I finally had the money to buy one without making a sacrifice. Right out of the box, this camera was ready to go. With the kit lens I was able to take very crisp and clear pictures with the kit lens set to f/8.0, 1/60 shutter speed. The buttons and menus are very easy to understand and large enough to be readable. Though primarily made of plastic material, the camera feels sturdy and lightweighted. The kit lens provided will take decent photos depending on the situation, but it is ultimately a very cheap lens and you will not get the most out of your investment with just the kit lens, so it is my personal recommendation that you purchase a more advance and pricier lens (Sigma or Tamron for example) that will really help you take your photography to a professional-looking level. Nevertheless, for 650 bucks you get a great amateur DSLR kit. I will be posting pictures.
