With the hope and enthusiasm of getting into the world of photography, I was looking for a great introductory level DSLR camera that I could get my hands on. After everything I read it came down to being between Nikon D3100 and the Canon EOS T3. In the end, the majority came to the conclusion that though the T3 was cheaper in build quality than the Nikon, the Canon T3 took overall better pictures. And in the end what sealed this deal was the $449 purchase price with no tax and shipping through Amazon; Amazing! Anyways, I've now had the camera for a few weeks, and absolutely love it! One of the best features, and what makes it great for a novice photographer is the guide feature that comes with this camera, which can be turned on or off. Basically what it does is describe what each and every function of the camera does from the P, Tv, Av, M settings to the little manual adjusted functions such as exposure, shutter speed, and aperture. This along with some simple reading has allowed me to learn the basic ins and outs of using an SLR camera rather quickly. I still have a long, long way to go, but I know with this camera every step of the way will be extremely enjoyable.
