Canon EOS 60D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3.0-Inch LCD and 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS UD Standard Zoom Lens,1.0 out of 5 stars RIPOFF!, December 6, 2011

Canon EOS 60D 18 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera with 3.0-Inch LCD and 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS UD Standard Zoom LensI am extremely disappointed with the Canon EOS 60D (although I have good reviews for the Canon Powershot point and shoot cameras, but more on that later). I first decided to get the Canon EOS 60D so that I can join the big boys and make some excellent quality videos. I was convinced in part by watching those Vimeo tutorials on DSLR Video production. They make it look so easy, and they give you the impression that the videos which they produce are easily produced with Canon DSLR's. No way in hell! I am now convinced that the videos you see on Vimeo touting the Canon DSLR's are actually not shot with those cameras. Instead, they are shot on Reds, or other cameras which go North of $20,000+. Now, why would they do that? Well, to sell the special Phillip Bloom $1,000 sliders, and other bs you don't need!

Don't kid yourself. Buying a pair of LeBron James sneaks won't enable you to dunk 2-handed, and purchasing any sort of Canon DSLR under $20,000 won't enable you to take broadcast quality videos either. Don't believe me? OK, well check out this video from Crumplepop. [...] Don't see the difference between the iPhone 4S video and the Canon 5D? My point exactly!!!

In fact, my Canon Powershot that I purchased for only $350 actually gives me BETTER quality videos than my $1,200 Canon EOS 60D. And oh yeah, by the way there's the following accessories: 1.) Tokina wide angle lens (~$800), 2.) 50 mm Prime Lens, $100 3.) ND Polarizing Filter, and Polarizing Filters ($200), 4.) the Lens Hood (~$80), 5.) the Diopters, and more. All told, a little over $2,500. And guess what...it is still not complete!

After buying all this bs like a moron, and after using all the "professional settings" espoused by charlatans like Phillip Bloom, I now find that I have turned into the 2:AM dumbass who buys garbage from those infomercials. I always used to make fun of those idiots, alas I have joined them with the purchase of the Canon EOS 60D. The videos are so bad, I wouldn't dare to post them on Youtube with the small cell phone videos from circa 2005. I would be terrified to find that the 2005 cell phone camera videos actually look better than my Canon EOS 60D Videos!

All the colors are either so washed out, or are just not visible. The sky is the color of ecru. The grass is not green, it is an unfamiliar wavelength heretofore not discovered by the leading scientists in Optics. There is no detail to the subjects. And heaven forbid if you purchase a lens WITHOUT IMAGE STABILIZATION. Using a lens without image stabilization makes me want to put a bullet in my left temple.

If you are an amateur or an aspiring pro photographer/videographer, do yourself a favor. Stay away from these DSLR's. Just purchase a Canon Powershot, get Final Cut Pro X, and learn them like the back of your hand. Now, with the Powershot, you may have problems with movement, turning, tilting, and panning. However, you can fix those problems in FCP X (rolling shutter & image stabilization). Or, in the alternative, you can just use the iPhone 4s. I swear on my Grandmother's grave, that gets me better video footage than the Canon 60D.

The "D" stands for Disgusting.
